Has anyone recorded using the Digitech Vocalist 4 with the BR-600? Love to hear comments about how to do this. Thanks.

My buddy has one of these, but I don't believe he has tried to record with it.

I can see a very large drawback (IMHO) that the harmonized vocals and the lead vocals will be together on the same track making it impossible to adjust the levels relative to one another and apply separate effects/panning/eq/etc after tracking.

They are a great piece of kit for live performance, but I am not sure that they translate well to the home studio.

I have a TC-Helicon Harmony-G, very similar to the Digitech, and I use mine for recording all the time.  I go straight out from the Harmony-g into the mic input on my BR-1200, or line in on my microBR.  Both work excellent, no noise and great sounding harmonies.  I usually record straight vocals first for the whole song and then go back with another track or two and record harmony parts and mix them in, works great.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

Ah, bluesberry's technique may work with the Digitech as well.

Yes, I would record the lead vocal without the VL4 and add harmonys after. I'll give it a try, thanks dwardzala and Bluesberry, you guys are awesome! Craig810

groundy, do you use a line out of your MBR? Whats your process? Thanks!

Hi Craig, First you have to record your guitar separate, then plug your mic in, Then plug in the out section of your digitech, to your MBR ,I bought a lead with a mic plug on one end and a small jack plug on the other, then plugged it into my mbr, it was easier than using an adaptor' then take a jack plug from your guitar and plug into digitech, as the harmoniser works from your guitar chords, you just have to keep your volume to a minimum its ok if you have a solid guitar.then set your mbr to ext and you should have lift off. any problem just ask.........Alex
