How utterly fantastic.  You have such a unique orchestration going on here.  The bass is so omnipresent, the squared-off tremolo, the Ebow...

It would be easy to screw this up with added instrumentation, but what it really needs is to be put to a video or slideshow.

Well done.  Now I have to go check out Tortoise.

I have no doubt you'll be impressed, even if you don't like there music that much, (very cerebral) they are incredibly talented musicians....and producers. John McEntire is the drummer/multi-instrumentalist (one of my favorites) and a world class producer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_McEntire

Just awesome IE...your music is powerful, understated, expertly produced and always intriguing.

If there is a film school in your area you should try to get involved with some student film projects...seems like a good place to start if you're interested in film scoring - you've definitely got the talent and imagination for it.

Lovely music.  :) :) :)

Thanks for making me discover that group - tortoise_ i'm running to the library to-morrow to borrow their albums. Which one do you prefer indieric? Do you call them cerebral because of the jazzy sounds or the lack of lyrics?

You're welcome Daniel. I recommend TNT, thats my favorite album of theres. I cdescribe them as cerebral yes because they're instrumental but also because of the complexity to there music, plus it's very visual music. Way ahead of there time imo, they form in 1990.

Wow that is a hell of a compliment and a great recommendation. One I had not thought of. Shit, I might just look into the film school idea. Thank you so much Gritter!

ORH, Jim, T thank you as always.

Okay, can I just say something. This community is amazing!! Yesterday I was being a little sensitive, it happens. let me explain. Frequently I send out my new songs (and new paintings) to a select number of my close friends and family members, people who I think might be interested in these kind of things, i.e. the arts, music etc... Yet, more often than not no-one ever seems to take the time to check out what I'm doing, at least they don't comment on it, which leaves me to assume they don't like it. I like to share what i do, otherwise no-one would ever hear it, (save for you guy's) (and i truly wish others would do the same with me) and to me, whats the point in creating. Yes, it is a necessary form of expression for me, but the way i look at it, if many of my favorite artist didn't share they're works with the world I would have no inspiration to feed off of. I just can't help but to take it personally sometimes when my close friends and family don't even take the time to check out what I'm doing. I'm an artist, it's how I define myself therefore it's important to me that they take an interest. Which brings me to this site. You guy's (and girls) are so freaking supportive it nearly brings a tear to my eye. I might need a little more encouragement than most but regardless all of you give me the inspiration to keep creating. Anyways, this is a gigantic THANK YOU to everyone on this site. You're amazing!

I'm not that familiar with the new website yet, but why was this moved under "cover songs"? It's original work.
