This Museum of Oddities live living room jam of Cream's "Badge" was from a while back, and I had little intention of posting it.  However, I was listening back this morning, and although the bulk of it is a bit rough and bass-heavy, the little jam we added in the middle before the vocals return has a couple redeeming qualities.  I remember playing it, happy that we got out of the jam and landed on our feet. Thank goodness our drummer knows how to give a great audible clue.

I miss you all, but between work and a friend visiting from Alaska, I am pooped.

OH Blooby, we miss you too!!!. But understand, time sometimes isn't an option.  this sounds great. Glad you posted it. Fun glad to hear the real thing. I don't think the bass is heavy.  Most the time one can't hear the bass on line.  Bass is the driving line.  Go for it.!! I think there is some great bass lines in here and they should be heard.  I think the balance is good. I think this is great.  so many times when mixing the bass is lost. Superb!!

I really enjoy listening to your jams Blooby!!!  I always feel like I'm at a summer afternoon concert at this outdoor place I use to frequent in Allentown PA.  Carefree - rockin - partyin - etc etc - tons of fun, and your music puts me right back there.....transcending time and space....

btw really nice guitar playing in the middle there !!!

Total sweetness, bro!! I love how you downplay everything you post, because I know it's going to be good. A little bass never hurt anyone - I like the natural feel to this one, and agree with Tommy that I get the open concert feel with your arrangements.

My feeling is usually the weekend pit party after the sun goes down - One of these days I'm going to play a few of your songs in that environment. I guarantee it will thrill the audience.

Anyway - I like this one. Badge is a staple for me. My roommate in college made sure I heard every Cream song in existence, and it has stuck with me ever since...

Thanks, Wiley, Satch, and Launched.

This tune is a good one to show an internal struggle in our group.  Our keyboardist is very Type A and doesn't like to deviate from the script.  I, on the other hand, love to jam, and those moments of serendipity are what I live for (like parts of the unplanned middle section in this tune).  It came to light a few weeks back when we were having this discussion.  As a point, I played the floaty section after the guitar solos in our faster version of the Allman Brothers' "Dreams."  I think that minute of music is some of the best with which I've ever been associated.  It gets quiet, the keys and two guitars dance around one another, one guitar brings the dynamics up only slightly only to bring them down again, and then everything drops out before the vocals come back in.  Totally fortuitous and pretty cool.  His response was, "You can plan those dynamics."  My response to him was, "With that statement, I think you're the first man who ever broke my heart." I'm playing up the strife for the sake of a more interesting story, but you get the idea. I guess every band has its issues.

Launched, as for me downplaying my posts, maybe we are our own worse critics because as much as I love the rough edges, I am also hyper-sensitive to them. When I'm involved with something I really like or I think deserves a little attention (like the aforementioned section in "Dreams") I'll speak up as well. I'm glad these tunes bring you back to another time. That is a huge compliment to me.

I very much appreciate all your comments.

Thanks, indierik.  After listening to your posts, I take that as a compliment of compliments.

You always capture such a great vibe in all your posts, and they range in styles. I hope some of that recorder juju comes my way.
