I'm impressed as hell on second listen. It's really a happy song!  ;D

I can imagine the main part slipping into an 'Ob-La-Di' type of group chorus, and the breaks being a bit more solitary sounding.

Thanks to all for the feedback. This was a fun project.  It got me back fully into my "World music" mode, which I haven't visited much lately.  About a year ago I wrote a song with a Cameroonian friend in much this same style--so eventually you may hear another recording from me like this.

I didn't get to trade for the Hourglass. Tried to obtain it, but it didn't work out. A sweet guitar, though. Very high quality. Still using my $100 Epi SG right now.

That fretless of yours sounds really good. Love it!
