Riverside Seer (Fire torch bearer)

I wrote this one a couple weeks ago. I imagined an old seer rowing his canoe on a river. I have allways been inspired by the nature and ancient things...

Thanks for your listening!

Great work, I like the reverb on the acoustic guitar-very fantasy-like.  Can you tell us what the words mean?
To be pleased with one's limits is a wretched state.

Very nice. I especially like the double-tracked vocals during the chorus(?)

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

This is just a pop song without serious consideration. I tried  translate the lyrics and my simple view is this:

The weak leaves on trees
but the roots are strong
trees are looking at the waters flow
October is playing winter

Ad ancient seer, fire torch bearer
rowing the river downwards by his canoe

The trees, commanded by the wind
forcing towards shore
or not those trees
but the wind will

Chorus:

Riverside seer (fire torchbearer)

He crosses his sooty fingers
put his head in deep bowing
the day ends until 'amen'
until a silent pray

into the calm sleep
falls the seer
the canoe is waiting for a new morning

Chorus:

Riverside seer (fire torchbearer)

Hopefully you understood this. If someone likes correct these to 'good' english, I'd be grateful.

Wow Kari, this is beautiful.  I have a soft spot for these types of songs. Can imagine drifting down a river. And seeing the leaves in the trees. Just beautiful!!
