i have been collaborating with bodie(dave sickler) via soundclick for quite a while now, in fact we nearly have enough material for an album.

dave was a member of a band called "familiar noise", they recently split up, then pulled down their myspace page. which dave was upset about.

he then recorded the music for this song originally called super squish posted here http://soundclick.com/share?songid=8233525 then he sent me a version minus lead guitar and telling me the story behind it, so as per usual the story informed the lyric and the title.
dave is going to add  lead back on around my vocals and hopefully it will be completed in time for 48's rockfest.
so dave and i have decided to form our own wee duo called "Dead Divans Jam" dont worry it wont effect jemima's kite. like jemimas kite the name is an anagram of "david and james" dave is going to create a site where we can put all our collaborations (past and present and hopefully future) in the one place.

here are the words.

that once familiar noise
it wont be heard again
its all over now
this is the end
turn the volume down
until there isnt any sound
and we can listen
for that once familiar noise
but i cant hear it
i cant hear it
i cant hear......
that once familiar noise
it wont be heard again
cos its all over now
this is the end
you wont be hearing
that once familiar noise
you wont be seeing
that once familiar noise
and there wont be
that once familiar noise
you wont be hearing
that once familiar noise
you wont be hearing
you wont be seeing
you wont be hearing
that once familiar noise
you wont be seeing
that once familiar noise
and there wont be
that once familiar noise
you wont be hearing
that once familiar noise

this song has taken on a new poignancy as dave's father passed away last night, his father was an accomplished slide guitarist and familiar noise for dave now refers to his father rather than his former band.

my thoughts are with dave and his family.
