i was wandering if i can link together my bossbr1600 with my roland vs880 via midi? would the recognize each other and allow me to run 1 as a master and one as a slave?...it would be interesting to track drums on the roland and then everything else on the boss...just curious

I have not tried yet, so this is an assumption, but believe it is likely that syncing a BR1600 to VS880 should work.

Using the BR as a MMC/MTC master and the VS as the slave will sync the transport controls (play, stop, record, etc). I remember the MIDI section in the BR1600 manual showing how to set up being a master.   Then you just need a word clock to sync the audio samples between the two boxes together.  The VS can be configured to run system clock off it's digital input.

I think I remember reading somewhere, maybe even here, someone syncing 2 BR1600s together for 32 tracks of awesomeness.  BR->VS should be similar.
