Here's a tune called "Louisiana Hot Sauce" that I wrote and recorded with some friends back in the late 80's (or early 90's?). I can't believe it was that long ago.  :o

Our band won some studio time in a local "battle of the bands" so we recorded 6 demo songs. The band broke up shortly after, so nothing ever became of these songs.

This was recorded on a Tascam 8 track reel to reel in a garage that was converted into a little studio. Mostly just SM58 an SM57 mics, a 16 channel Peavey mixer, some delay, compressor, etc. Nothing too fancy.

Live drums and bass, and then added rhythm, lead and vox tracks after.

Harp was played by a friend who just starting out. He's really amazing now. I'm hoping to get him on another tune someday.

Lead guitar was played by a friend who I taught guitar. He passed me in about 2 months, so that was the end of my teaching career.   :-[

Anyhow - it's a little "blast from the past", so I hope you enjoy it.

Hey Vanncad  This is a great blast from the past!!  It's fun to listen to what we used to do. That harp player is awesome so is the bass. Your all great.  Lot better than the old cassett live recordings.  Post another one.

Hey, that was nice tight playing. Love the natural sound from the dynamic mics. And if your friend was just starting on the harp, I was definitely fooled.

Great musicianship, and the 8 Track recording produced awesome results!

Enjoyed the track, Vann!

Thanks for the comps guys. I think these tunes get a little "lost" down in this area of the site, but there is some cool stuff here too!

Wiley - Glad you liked the song. I'll try to post another one, but I'm having trouble getting them down to 5mb  ???.

Kick ass!  Love the harp and drums, and the bass is thumpin' as well.  What a fun listen.  Love it for it's own sake, but for a garage creation...damn.
