Haha I've lived in Scotland for a while and eventually ran out of excuses in good company so I've had it a couple of times. As national dishes go, it's not that bad; you're still up over the Dutch; ours is mashed potato/kale mix, with gravy and a high-fat processed meatstuff sausage "boerenkool met worst"; eerily similar to the german Saurkraut mit Bratwurst, just replace the saurkraut with kale.
Being an ex-chef, I can also appreciate you can actually make a plate of Haggis, Neeps & Tatties look half-decent and appetizing... Not so with this
