I shall sleep in peace! Thanks, P-Dog!

Pine

Thanks Sen...sleeping in Peace is a very good thing...especially compared to the alternative.

Wiley...your kind words and support from the start are much appreciated. I didn't even start playing unitl i was 22. I wasn't better when i was younger..and i have tapes of old bands to prove it  :D  I think i am as good as i have ever been and think i can improve a bit more before the aging process begins to take it's dreaded toll. But as much as i love music, i have never had a "gift" for it like some rare people do. You would think a guy like Steve Vai is gifted, but he says no, it was all hard work and practice. Then there's guys like Mozart, writing symphonies at age 7. Now i think that is probably "gifted"  :o  I believe everyone has special qualities that enable them to do exceptionally well at something..but finding out what they are can be a long journey. Maybe that's what Life is for...exploring ourselves and cultivating things that show promise.
Thanks for stoppin' by Wiley.

Wow.  What fun.  Great playing and a great vibe.  Love it once you get cooking.  I like how everything has its own space and lines and punctuated chords are weaving in and out of one another.

I must say the keyboard tone didn't do it for me, though, to the point of distraction in the beginning of the tune. Having said that, that dry lead guitar tone is lovely.

Really nice. I would love to hear more of this style from you.

Nice job Pinedog. You should ping Mr2Cool and get him over here to have a listen to this, he will enjoy the jazzy feel. I'm no jazzer but this sounds great, very laid back and excellent guitar work.

Cheers,

I LOVE THIS! Too many jazz guitarists just cut and paste from their library of licks, but this tune has a very real, authentic vibe. Your love of playing comes through. Keep 'em coming.

Come on, you know you want to go there...

Blooby, Nigel, SL and Ricko...thank you for taking the time to listen and offer your impressions. Feedback helps alot. This was a first outing into this type of thing, so i was pretty tentative.

Ricko...A jazz guitarist i ain't  :D Library of licks...oh man how i wish. When it comes to jazz scales, i'm illiterate  :D If you listen close, you'll see it's bass and drums giving the big jazz feel...my guitar parts are really just a variation of a good ol' 1-4-5 blues. The lead tone is my '77 Tele, neck PUP, recorded direct and clean.

Thanks Satch...coming from a player of your caliber, i'm flattered. After 5 months off, it was good to be back in my little studio with the "record" light on. Playing the rhythm guitar track on this was my favorite...i think that's where the smoooooth feel comes from. I have never considered myself much of a lead player.  8)
