Even Wakeman had his limits:

Yes's double-album prog symphony was based on Shastric scriptures and their Roger Dean-designed live tour attempted to convey this lurid mysticism. Sadly, skeptical keyboardist Rick Wakeman rather spoiled the effect when he showed his disdain for the bombast by stopping playing in order to eat an onstage curry during the 20-minute The Revealing Science of God (Dance of the Dawn). Unsurprisingly, he left the band soon afterwards.

HaHaHa, you guys are killing me, Wakeman capes, Emmerson sticking knives into a beautiful old hammond organ,  that kind of stuff is what killed Prog in the first place, the bloat and overblown spectacle.  Prog nowadays is kinda underground and alternative.  Maybe we should call it Alt.Prog.  You have to have equal measure of acoustic instruments mixed in with the electronic, folk mixed with rock, blues mixed with classical, country mixed with punk.  Thats the Alt.Prog way, mix it all up.  The acoustic guitar needs to be a central part of the sound.  That is the way see it anyway. Groups like the Decemberists, The Flaming Lips, Black Mountain, thats the Alt.Prog way.
