I have a close friend that I basically grew up with, Ive known him since high school.  He was always funny and a ladies man but there was this underlying sadness about him.  Its one of those things you might always suspect-but since Id never seen him any other way I figured that was just how Mike was.  Since high school, hes gone from job to job, each time getting fired. He also goes from girlfriend to girlfriend-always moving in with them,  Id say he averages about 3 months per relationship.  Hes always broke and often times has to move in with his sister.  He also is pretty heavy into drugs, and basically miserable.  So I wrote this about him, it was one of my very first songs from a few years ago.  Please excuse the vox-im a bit worn out from last night.  Also I need to figure out percussion on the MBR a little better.

Decay

He dont know how it works
Or where his evil lurks
He cries and then he smurks
He dont know how it works

A shot and then cocaine
Or something in his vein
He tries to numb the pain
It all goes down the drain

Fly to take it all ok
But will this thing take hold?
Try to take it all away
But will this thing take hold?

They go around again
The woman and the man
A joint and a beer can
Who knows where it began

So keep your eye on the ball
And stay up on the wall
Dont go down that hall
He stands, but will he fall?
To be pleased with one's limits is a wretched state.
- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Davo, this is deep,, real, beautiful.  I Love this, I love the dynamics, I love your fragile yet strong vocals, I love the guitar strumming soft then hard,  damn man I love it all.  This is big.  Great flipping song, did I mention I love it?

It's a clean vocal as well!

I Find I Have to use a Guitar patch on heavier tracks to get my vocal heard in the mix...

Was that mixed on the BR.

I can never get the vocal track as loud as I want it......

Davo!! Big vox, dude!! You had us fooled all along!

Excellent arrangement - I love the zero percussion aspect to it. Really makes the song, I think.

Way to go, bud!!

Oh well ........

Ted

Oh man!  Good song.  I wrote a song about a guy just like this, but mine was much more chastising. Kudos to you for your more sympathetic approach.

I'd love to hear that last chorus explode with drums, and repeat at least one more time.

Thanks for the kind replies guys.  It was all MBR-including mixing and the vocal.

Ted I have an outro/solo Id like to add, I just need to figure out the MBR's drums first.

I Hate the MBR drums....

They take away from a song sometimes....

Everyone that I know can tell that they are canned......

This is just fine bro!
