Drum Machine Questions

hi im an american in berlin needing to demo some songs for my band back home. im thinking of buying this but have a question concerning the drums. is it possible to change tempos on the drums? and when they say it is independent of the 4 tracks...when you play back are the drums there? or do you have just the music sans drums? this will be the key factor whether i buy this or not.

thanks!

Chris,

You have complete tempo control. It goes all the way down to uselessly slow and all the way up to uselessly fast. These are real PCM samples mixed in stereo, so the drums sound great. However, at faster speeds, they can cycle so quickly that they start to sound synthetic. But I have never had a problem with the patterns I have used and normal working speeds. There are almost 300 patterns grouped as about 49 sets (intro, verse1, fill1, verse2, fill2, end) and nine kits of differing drums and intensity. (The different sets allow you to set up varying patterns in your song in the Arrangement mode.) There is also a metronome. Also should be noted that you're pretty much limited to 4/4 time. This handily covers most basic needs though.

Drums are there when you play back or not. It's your choice to turn them on of off for the mix. You can almost think of the Micro as a six track machine with two tracks being stereo drums. The drums are not actually recorded until you record a mix of the tracks.
