I went to my music store today and came home with a Roland GR-20.
so far I have installed the GK-3 pickup on my Tele and it seems to work very well.  To hear it in action have a listen to Launched's latest song, I played the organ solo in the middle and the synth outro with this little beaut or this backer challenge song.  GAS is a terrible thing, there is only one cure.  I really love this GR-20. it seems perfect for my needs.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

Cool!  Are you gonna run it into a PA or guitar amp?

I am running it into my Fender G-Dec30 which has stereo line level inputs, sounds real good.  Recording with it sounds incredible.  An acoustic amp would sound good.  It sounds bloody good through my powered monitor speakers.

How about this - the guitarist I play with in my band has a Roland guitar synth coupled to a guitar in which he has embedded a Kaoss pad (like Matt Bellamy from Muse), so when he has both coupled up the sounds he produces are amazing.

I'll stick with my Micro Synth, that's about all I can handle!

I don't know about the GR-1 but the GR-20 seems to track really good, and I patched over to my SH-201 and it tracked really good there also.  I am very satisfied with the GR-20, really easy to use and it sounds great to my ears.  I couldn't be happier with it.  Hear it in action here.

aaah, I'm moving around in the wrong direction. See I didn't know you had a gas attack, I just listened to the post first, now working my way back to this thread. I'm holding off on one of these as a reward for later. I just have not established the goal yet, so I can move up the target purchase date accordingly.....
