QuoteI take it back. I thought this was just fine as an instrumental, but I didn't bargain on the ORH magic song dust getting sprinkled on it, lol. F*cking fantastic. The voice and guitar interplay is beautiful. Nobody would know they weren't part of a well-planned whole.

That's because you hear lyrical arrangements where nobody else can hear or even try to hear them. You have a special ear, pmsl

It's a magical power. Or a dark art. Or something...

cheers tim.

just a note on the subject matter and lyrical interpretation. tharek called me concerned i might be on a bit of a downer due to the lyrical content that he interpreted as being negative , the bit where i sing you dont need me ,to sing your song , you can do it all, on your own.

that verse rather than being negative i thought was quite positive, i intended it as words of encouragement for all the great musicians on here who struggle with lyrics.

just for the record i hate explaining lyrics cos often i dont know what they mean or i try and be vague or give them multiple possible meanings.

but this one was about this beautiful piece of music by mike and how scared i was to tamper with it, it was also about my desire to be able to play guitar as well as mike and a lot of others here. also it was about bosckoschwartisis the first line was
sometimess less
 is what we need
a touch too much
the colours bleed

this is about adding things to a piece and overproducing to the point where you spoil the original idea, also before writing the lyrics i had a discussion with mike about art, the van gough museum in amsterdam and the sunflower in particular so there is a similarity in the process of painting, tho in my case its more the decorating variety.

I take it you were sober writing that last comment then  ;D

Jim, you could put meaningful lyrics and melody to my 5 yr old playing his harmonica. This was brilliant.

Oldrottenhead

mike

I already sent Jim a message saying thanks for the lyrics to this song but I'd just like to let everyone know how happy I was with them.  It has been a decade since my playing had a vocal accompaniment and this did not disappoint!!
Thanks again Jim
Much appreciated

Mike
