Two inputs at the same time?

Is there any way to use the guitar in and the lin in at the same time?

I don't need to record, I just want to be able to plug my CD player into the line in and practice along with the songs.

Am I basically stuck having to convert stuff to mp3, copy it to the memory card and play like that? Is there any easier way?

Uhm, I think you can plug in the line in, and the guitar at the same time....

But in any case there are benefits of converting\importing MP3's...

1. Portability - You don't have to worry about a cd player pc etc...

2. Tempo  You can slow or speed up an mp3 for practicing... it does not sound as good but, it sure helps to learn songs.

3. Cancel out the center channel can eliminate most of the vocals or lead if they are in the center or either side l\r for the most part.

4. You can also import an mp3 right into a Microbr song, into a virtual track to help you record the song then remove it once you have all the pieces. etc...

So don't dismiss the availability of MP3 in fact being able to slow down an mp3 is how I found the MIcrobr.

Yeah, to clarify if I have them both plugged in, I can only hear one at any given time. There doing seem to be a way to have them both playing.

I know the benefits of mp3, but in this case it's not something I need, I've got about 15-20 backtracks that I like to improvise over, but I was looking for an easy way to do it so I could practice with headphones on and have both the guitar sound and the track come out through them.

Only combination possible is GTR and MIK. Invest a few quid in a 1G memory card and put all your fave backers on it?

I guess in this case it IS something you do need to do. But once you convert them, you will be able to jam along, import, etc... and it will all be self contained and portable.
