I did a cover from this song quite some time ago, a very different approach, but this one is way better played then my own version.

A Question......

I was wondering......  Are you able to run a pre-recorded Vox through the Harmony G (Eg.... Lets say an MP3 that someone has sent you or something to have harmonies put on) ?

Or does it need to be live?

I don't know, never tried that.  Hmmm

I think you would need to pipe in a guitar part, too, right?

I don't own a Harmony G, so I'm officially talking out my ass.  However, I've been thinking about this, and I think it would have to be configured like this:

You would have to play the guitar chords along with the pre-recorded vocals in order to generate harmonies for the new track(s).

Yep - That's kind of what I was thinking, only the the MBR loop would probably generate massive feedback and squealing. I think two playback units like an mp3 player, outputted to the MBR would be the way to do it. Or use an mp3 player for the vocal tracks and play the guitar part or vice versa.

Seems complicated, though...

I suck at photoshop, etc. so no cool diagram  :-[

Good point.

(Still talking out my ass, but) I don't think feedback would be a problem if you output to a Y-adapter (so you could monitor the pre-recorded vocals and play along).  You would need to turn the input volume all the way down so that the input doesn't get mixed into the output signal but still gets recorded.

I've updated the image to show what I mean.  See above.

In this hypothetical configuration, you wouldn't be able to monitor how the harmonies sounded while they were recording, unless you could run a Y-adapter out of the output of the Harmony G, running one branch to the Micro BR input, and another to headphones.

I'm going to shut up about this now, and maybe someone who actually has a Harmony G can do the experiment and enlighten us all.

Lets hear this one again.  Great job T-man.  Just a question, why not do this one at open mic (good warm up song?).  You do this so beautifully it would be a big hit I am sure.
