Right---to start with, this really isn't much to do with me, it's Ronnie and PJ, just a bit bit spookie how it turned out I knew at all----all will be explained when the one I'm working on with Ronnie comes out!! All I'm doing is posting it for them.

Ronnie did the guitar and vocals, then passed it to PJ to do the other vocals on the chorus.

This is a traditional song, and here's a VERY quick background. The English wanted the Scots to toe the line, and sign pledges of allegiance, but for several reasons some didn't really want to, and some couldn't, mainly because of weather/distances etc ( No mobiles back then, and it was winter!!).  On the evening of 12th Feb 1692 The english commanders were invited to dine with the scots, then on the orders of King William, on the following morning, massacred them. 3 settlements were attacked, 38 Macdonalds were killed, and another 40 women and children died of exposure after their homes were burnt to the ground.

Anyway, enough waffle. Here it is.

Good innit????? I thought so even before PJ put her bit on. When you know a bit of the story it's even more----errr----bugger, forgot the word, but you know what I mean?
Those bloody backstabbing murdering bloody English again!!! It's OK, I can say that, I'm English ( but ashamed to say so sometimes), but with Celt/Gaelic background ( among other things, I think) ;D

Oustanding! The vocal harmonies sound great. You two ought to try some Ian & Sylvia songs.

The only minor flaw in this recording is that it seems to end rather abruptly. What happened?

Thanks for the comments everyone.

I had recorded this song, just me and the guitar, and I guess I had listened to to it so often that it started sounding a bit flat to me, sent it over to PJ asking for the vocal harmoines and the whole thing came back to life again.

I think I chopped the ending off by mistake while I was "trimming" it on the computer 64, I kid myself on that i know how to work the software (adobe audition) ...a littlle knowledge being a dangerous thing. as usual I would like to do the whole thing over again, but its done now.

My thanks to Wiley for saving the song and to Steve for the posting.
