It started to fall apart once or twice, but there was no stopping and no turning back.
The mandolin is a Fender FM-53S Acoustic Mandolin. pretty much bottom shelf but with a solid top.

i am trying to picture how difficult this is to play let alone sing.
you have picked on one of our "saturday night" classics and popped it upside down.
its brilliant . could be recorded in a power cut.

Visiblemember gives himself an evaluation: Thanks everyone. I'm impressed that I finally posted it, but I really should have waited til I smoothed it out some more. I got the idea in my head a year ago to do this song and I think I have been messing with it for close four months on and off. Every time I go through my warm-ups and paces I tell myself this is gonna be great. And every time I work that mando part for thirty or forty minutes I end up saying this just wasn't meant to be. I think if it were a live performance, It would blow the crowd away and me too.  and yes the mandolin part did make it to the finish line but, it came through like a car crash.
I am my own worst critic. I'm glad I did it. I know this. I am a much better musician than I was before I bought my Boss MBR almost two years ago.
I'm off to work now.
