Playing mp3 while recording

Is it possible to listen to an imported mp3 while recording a track to it? I can't seem to figure it out. Also, after the track has been recorded, will i have to bounce the two together to 'mix' them?

i don't believe it is possible to record while listening to a mp3
What you would have to do is import the mp3 into a song and track along with-the results could then be mastered and converted back to mp3 if ya like.
It is possible to record directly to wav or mp3 as described in pg 94 of the manual-but i dont see where you can be listening to a mp3 playing back while recording directly to mp3
I have never used this function
