I actually started this song about a year ago, so I figured I might as well finish. LOL! I guess that makes it a new song. The lead guitar needs to be reworked, and it needs a good remix, but the idea is there. My first real attempt at a sort of country/rock tune. Some people have pointed out the reggae flavor as well. It just kind of happened. LOL!

"My heart is weak but my Willy's Strong!"  LOL!  I must learn to enunciate...

Thanks, everyone! I appreciate the kind words. Yes, this was all on the '900. After mixing and mastering I imported it to Audacity to add a little gain, trim the lead-in, and edit the fade-out.

I'll post the lyrics tonight (I'm at work). Apologies to Tennyson.

Frank, I am not sure how I missed this one!!!  Was looking over some stuff and came accross this tune!?  ""My heart is weak but my Willy's Strong!"  LOL!  I must learn to enunciate..."  I got a good laugh out of this - as first time through it sounded like willy!

Man, I love this tune, and although you said that you wnated to redo the lead guitar => it sounded just fine via my headphones - i like how you panned the rythm guitar and the lead guitar!  And that strumin of the rythm g does have a bit of reggae/ska sound!

I hope you don't mind the BUMP!!!!

Thanks, Diego! I appreciate the kind words. Actually, I'm glad you bumped this. Jim had asked if I would post the lyrics. Here they be...

Another Independence Day

Do I really have to go through this again
To hear her say, "But honey, can we still be friends"
Well I've become too fragile, too wise, too old
'Tis better to have loved and lost,
than to be naked in the freezing cold

I've had more of these friends than I care to count
And they've done quite a number on my bank account
Each time we built something, it falls apart
'Tis better to have loved and lost,
than to take an arrow through the heart

She can hit the road, I can hit the bottle
She can hitch a ride, he can hit the throttle
I can hide my scars, but she's got notches on her gun
Well go ahead and run away
It's just another independence day

Life's too short, and the night's too long
My heart is weak, but my will is strong (or insert alternate lyrics. LOL!)

Solo

I know I'll find another woman who will make me smile
We'll spend some time together, be as one for a while
But sooner or later this too shall pass
'Tis better to have loved and lost,
than to walk barefoot over broken glass

She can hit the road, I can hit the bottle
She can hitch a ride, he can hit the throttle
I can hide my scars, but she's got notches on her gun
Well go ahead and run away
It's just another independence day

Take care Frank!!!
