There's no HTML for you to worry about, PJ. All you have to do is edit the plain text file that's attached to your Intro message. To do that, just click on the attachment ("wiley.txt"). Firefox should ask you if you want to save it. Say yes and tell it what folder you want to save it in on your hard drive. Then open that file from your hard drive by double-clicking on it. If you're using Windows, it should open in Notepad. Now simply place the cursor at the beginning of the top line and press Enter. That will open a blank line at the top of the file. At the beginning of that blank line, paste the URL of your new song, followed by a "|", then any text you want displayed in the MP3 Player (song title, date, etc). Repeat for any other new songs you want to add, then save the file and close Notepad.

Now that you've edited your playlist file, you need to attach the updated playlist to your Intro message. Go to your Intro message and click Modify to edit it. Click Additional Options so that you can see the existing attachment. Un-check that attachement since it's the old version and you're going to replace it. Then click the Browse button to attach the new version. Click Post.

After posting, look at your Intro message. Move the mouse pointer over the attachment ("wiley.txt") and look at the bottom status line in Firefox. It will display the URL of the attachment. The URL will look something like this:

http://songcrafters.org/community/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=4497.0;attach=4483

But the last number (4483) will be different. Take note of the new number.

Now edit your Intro message once more. The link to the MP3 Player and your playlist looks like this:

P.J.'s Playlist

All you have to do now is change the "4483" in that URL to the new number, then Post your message. Clicking the "P.J.'s Playlist" link should now take you to the MP3 Player web page with your new playlist loaded.

By the way, if you keep your playlist file ("wiley.txt") on your computer, you won't have to download it again each time you want to add a new song. Instead, just add the new songs to the playlist file that's already on your computer and re-attach it to your Intro message.

Let me know if you have any trouble. I could fix it for you but it's best if you learn how to do it yourself. You know the old saying... "Give a man a fish and you feed him for one day. Teach a man to fish, and he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day." Or something like that.  :)

Hey ORH  64 did this for me and I couldn't believe he said I had 60+ songs up here.  And I only arrived in January of last year.  I have thanked him many times. And he's a good guy ( now watch out 64)  He puts us  all in our place now an then.   I can't imagine how many you have.  Yes it would be hard to get them all into a song  list.  But you are good at just popping lyrics out.!!  I can sing but can't pop words out. Anyway I hope I am forgiven!!

Vanncad has written a great tutorial on creating and editing an MP3 playlist. It includes lots of screenshots and is easy to follow. It's a standard pdf file and you can download it here:

Thanks, Vanncad!

Wow! I didn't know there was a number-of-words limit to messages.

Why don't you create a new topic in "Introduce Yourself" with the subject "Jemima's Kite". Then you can maintain the JK song list separately in that topic, leaving more room for your own stuff and collaborations. If you like, I can move the JK stuff to the new topic for you once you've created it.
