Hi All:

New to the site.  Just found it yesterday.  Great site with really terrific info.  I want to thank 64Guitars for the great info. on his site.  Really helped me, a newbie, to understand the V-Track data.  Thanks again 64!

Having problems updating my firmware for my BR600.  I have a Mac, which I love, but struggling to unzip (with Stuffit) one of the files (br660prg.bin just stays zipped = file shows a zipper and when I double click it, it just makes another zipped copy.  I have downloaded the following files br600prg.bin, br600upd.br0, and UPDATE.IN to my BR-600 . . . .but the firmware will not load.  I have used the Japanese site for download, perhaps I should use another site?

I have purchased 4 different 1 GB flash cards over the year and none work.  Finally found a 512 MG that works.  Would love to get the others to work.  Any thoughts you have on this would be appreciated. Thanks so much . . . .ATRF

If br600prg.bin has a zipper icon, it's because Stuffit associates the ".bin" file extension with MacBinary file encoding. But, in this case, br600prg.bin is not a MacBinary encoded file so there's nothing to decode (unzip). Just copy all three files to the root directory of your memory card. The "root" directory is the lowest level directory. So you should see the following in the root directory of your memory card:

ROLAND
br600prg.bin
br600upd.br0
UPDATE.INF

Notice that the three files are not inside the ROLAND folder. Rather, they are at the same level as the ROLAND folder.

Have you watched Sander's video on updating the BR-600? It might help you.

Once you have the three files copied to the root directory of your BR-600's memory card, watch Sander's video from about 6:27 onward. And, I hope you are following the instructions provided by Roland at:
