We passed around some Maker's Mark the other night and came up with a trippier version of the tune, mostly how we started and ended. There are plenty of warts, but it has a real late night, hazy feel to some of it. For those interested, I thought I would post it.

Yes, yes, yes!!!!! I love this one Blooby.  Nice touch on those drums, real nice piano, gives it a nice vibe.  Rock steady bass line, nice, induces head bobbing big time.  You guys are in sync, the interplay is fantastic.  Great vocals here, sheeeesh that guy can sing, he is one in a 1000.  Did he ever sing in bands before, I really like his voice, soulful and powerful.  Real nice hammond during the singing part.  I can't say enough about this track, it is fantastic.  Then that beautiful guitar solo comes in, interplay between your guitar and the organ/rhythm guitar is dynamite.  In sync guys, really in sync.  This is real music of a very high level.  Damn that organ sounds fantastic!!! This is very old-school (as my 7 year old would say), and old-school is cool again.  I think I like this the best of all your posts so far.

Thanks, BB.

To answer your question, the singer does backup vocals (and lead on a couple tunes) in a small acoustic trio.  Other than that, he comes from a musical family.  I believe this is his first full-band experience although I could be wrong.

I actually was displeased with my personal contributions to this version of the tune, but the band on the whole had a couple really nice moments. I just love the happy accidents of improvisation.

I hope it's not too weird to post a couple versions of the same tune. I thought it might be okay since it's staying in the same thread.

This is just too good sound so pro to me, so many great sounds bass, guitar and keys all so well played and the bluesy vox fits so well, composition and production to the max.

The evolution of this tune is really remarkable. I've listened back to back to back on this. The more I listen the more I realize I've got no business mixing. Which guitar was in the right channel?
