The effort shows.  Really unique post.

Do you now have "George Jetson finger" from pushing all those buttons?

Oh well ........

Wow Ted, I REALLY dig it. I loved the groove on this when Ted sent it to me, it actually reminded me of Pil/Jah Wobble, esepcially the fuzz bass, and I loved it. So I couldn't resist Kaossilating all over it. Blooby and Steve hinted at how clever Ted's work really is here and he has shared to tortuous process it must have been! Doing all the cutting up/looping on the BR is damn impressive. I sent him a mixed stereo track of Kaossilations, and he has even cut that up and spread it around the track so that the end result is way better than the rough mix I heard.

Ted, I love what you've done here and I really like the way you changed the end part. It was great fun to collaborate on this and the end result is very cool in my book. And yes, even Horny Harold got a look in!

Cheers,

Nigel

Ferryman, when I picture Horny Harold, I see your avatar.

Almost.  But my callouses got really soft while I was working on this, which is why I bought a Varigrip with callous builder.

Quote from: SteveG on September 02, 2009, 04:33:39 PMYou did all that on the recorder?

Quote from: Geir on September 02, 2009, 04:51:09 PMCan't believe you did that on the br!!! Very impressive and a great result !!

I used some freeware thing to convert the YouTube video into a WAV file, and then I used LP Ripper to cut that WAV into smaller sample WAVs--which made it a lot easier to isolate the precise beginning and end of the phrases.  Was that cheating?  I did a lot of that kind of precision work right on the Micro BR as well; it just took longer.

Nigel's parts were so cool, that I not only edited them end-to-end, but I decided to mix them together simultaneously in a couple parts of the song.

I actually ran out of v-tracks, mostly because when I would import a sample WAV file, I'd keep it in its unaltered form in one v-track, while I copied bits of it onto another v-track for actual playback in the song.  By the time I received Nigel's Kaossilator WAVs, I needed 12 v-tracks to finish the song (3 pairs for bouncing and mastering and 3 pairs for the Kaossilator parts), and I only had 10 to spare.  So I exported two of the v-tracks to a WAV file for safekeeping, and making room for Nigel.

I'm glad you liked it.  While patiently waiting for the Kaossilations, I got used to hearing that end part like a breakdown, without the fuzz bass, and with just Entwistle's bass over on the left along with the crowd noise.  So I moved your big end solo to the middle (and extending it a couple of beats to fit, if you noticed), and recopied a shortened version to the very end for a big finish--with two basses (Entwistle's and mine) and two Kaossilators (both yours).

I guess I don't understand who or what Horny Harold is.  I thought it was a stage name, a nickname, a band, an alter ego, a friend of yours, or your Kaossilator's pet name.  Out of curiosity, I Googled "Horny Harold." Then I clicked "Images" thinking I might see your old avatar as a band logo or something.

I've been on the Web since 1994.  Why then was I surprised when an innocent search including the word "horny" let me right to porn?

So, launched and Ferryman, I put this on SoundClick, but was at a loss to pick a genre. Since you two seem to know what this resembles, what genre should it be?
