This is really good!!.  I drew a blank all the way around.  But this is just fantastic.  She ought to really love this.  Very romantic.

Wow. I've missed out on the song challenge, what a great idea. This is fantastic Ted, not at all what I expected. It's a really straightforward but powerful song. So good to hear such heartfelt lyrics. Excellent songwriting - how did it go down at the songwriting circle?

Cheers,

Nigel

Nothing sloppy in what I heard...it sounds professional & polished. Amazing turnaround time - wish I could work faster.  ;D

Well done, Ted!

She did!  She asked that I send it to her work e-mail address so she could share it with a co-worker.  Another first!

Two people said it's their favorite song of mine--as did an old friend who's pretty much heard everything I've written, and has played guitar on a good chunk of them.

Did I just ruin the mood?

Quote from: launched on August 30, 2009, 07:43:33 AMI liked the theme and the playing - Similar to what the Barenaked Ladies would do, which is cool.

Speaking of barenaked...

I don't really know that much about Barenaked Ladies.  My head was in Africa when they were big, but I think they pop up a lot in one of my Pandora playlists. (Sorry for bringing it up, non-Americans, if you still can't get Pandora.  I hope it's not a sore subject.)  I'll have to take a closer look.

When I was arranging it, I was thinking about my advice to gingerytilly18, and I was trying to get an intimate Lou Reed feel--but the thing took on a life of its own.

Ruin it? You scared the hell out of me. They look like a pretty scary bunch.....
Glad it went down well at the circle, it's a great piece of work.

Cheers,

Nigel

Freaking you out was all the satisfaction I needed.  I've removed the picture and replaced it with a link for the curious.  That really is a picture of one of my oldest friends.  We were in The Nutrients together.  We had an impromptu reunion at my wedding a year ago.
