Every few measures there was something cool that you added. Held my attention and made we want more when it was over. I thought your choice of the wah was excellent for the solo. Nice contrast and very appropriate to the mood of the song.

Really good work!

Powerful song and a great arrangement too. Enjoyed, loads....

Read loads of Sci Fi over the years including a lot of Dick ... more fantasy nowadays tho. Dont remember this one tho, will have to dig around under the stairs and see if I have it.

BB - Oh sh*t, I'm becoming horror-struck at the thought of just what you could be producing if you'd have picked up the guitar 30 years ago rather than 3??!!
This is damn excellent, I rather wished it had lasted longer, but that's down to you. To be brutally honest, I'd like to hear what could be achieved by someone else producing you in a proper studio. There's absolutely nothing wrong with any of the songs you've produced on your various BRs (God, if only I could do anything similar!!), but I just have this feeling that someone with the working knowledge of a proper studio set-up could free you of the recording restraints and let you unleash more gems such as this. The guitar/syth/bass/drums etc seem to be your perfect arena to work in, long may it continue.

Been a bit busy over the past few days with family stuff to spend much time here but had to come straight to this one. I really like this, some great visual images in the lyrics (am I the dreamer or the dream, for example) - could you post them so I can get them all, I can only make out some of them.

The construction of the song is fantastic - the subtle intro and then it gradually builds in intensity with some great changes in mood, the solo is fantastic. I particularly like the Kaossilator part at the end, it gives a great twist to the song. That part would be worthy of development into a song in its own right. The Roland keys work really well, like Greeny you add some subtle touches without turning the song into a mess of strings.

The whole thing works on so many levels, like others have said your song writing and production are really maturing and each song is a major step forward. My only slight disappointment is that you are becoming an accomplished vocalist, what with that and the harmonzier the Ian Curtis twang is much less evident! But that's a good thing because you have quite a unique voice.

Fantistic, just fantastic. And as a major PK Dick fan I love your inspiration. I have read most of his work (including this one, altho it was a while back so would have to look up the plot line. But great starting point for a song, and it worked really welll.

Cheers,

Nigel

Thanks for having a listen guys.  This one is funny, after I got into it I didn't like the sound and had no idea where I was going, I almost scrapped the whole thing, then I stumbled across the novel on my book shelf one day, pulled it out and started reading it again, as happens.  The song started gelling from there, that line stuck in my head "Flow my tears..."  It sounded like the most beautiful thing I have heard in a while, I needed to get it in the song, that is where it took off, I knew what I wanted it to sound like.  Funny comment about the vocals Nigel, I am loosing the Ian Curtis twang, I have broken the curse!  Thanks to the encourgement I get from this wonderfull forum I keep on singing and it it keeps getting better.  Thanks all, I really appreciate the support and comments.

First off BB, thanks for sharing the lyrics. They recorded cleanly but being able to read them effortlessly while i listen allows me to enjoy all the things you did musically here...and they were many. I found your drum programming to be quite inspiring, as you may recall i have YET to use my onboard drums. The lyrics are mysterious and dreamlike and work well with your arrangement. Your singing continues to show improved pitch control and your phrasing is becoming personalized. Your playing has been, is, and will continue to be excellent. Great effort here on a difficult song to pull off and one hell of alot of work. Bravo, fellow 1200 man, Bravo!  8)
