Okay, I was listening to your other songs and came back and listened to this one again. In this genre I think you are the king. Everything on this song sounds perfect - the melody, the changes, the patches, the production...except...it sounds like your guitar needs a fret job, or at least an adjustment. Maybe I'm too OCD about that kind of thing, but it's really distracting, and that's a shame because this is awesome work. I really think this would be marketable if you re-recorded your lead track after getting your guitar adjusted.

64guitars tunes to 1/10th of a cent, and now Rickocaster can hear a bad fret setup.  God help us.  I think we'll need a section of the forum for people who can hear dog whistles.  ;)

I recently had difficulty discerning the difference between F# and G.

hi all
thank you all for your comments -
rick- yes I think your right about the burns marquee -
funny talking to a friend (much older than me ;D who has been playing guitar and banjo since the early 50's )and over a beer -he said that "money spent on a guitar techy is sometimes better than buying a new guitar-the difference in a set up and a new set of strings is like having a whole new guitar ""
so I agree there -I bought the burns 2nd hand -so I suppose it needs a service
-I mixed down the recording on the BR -so theres no going back-is there??
Im getting a mex strat next week
so I might record the whole lot again and see what happens
thanks all for your comments
ps -would part of my problem be using the BR built -in tuner ????

I am sure I commented on this before.. ???
It has really inspired me to check out some of the old school shadows stuff ;)
Well Done and thanks 8)
BTW check out the classic player strats they are well worth the little extra
I have the '60s player and it is by far the best strat I have played including some £1000 guitars

Technically, you can as long as you didn't delete that track. Practically, I guess it depends on what you plan to do with it. I know with all my stuff there are things I would like to change but I got to the point of just wanting to move on.

The Spinning Wheel
John Waller [1809-1894]
(Made popular by Delia Murphy and also recorded by Foster & Allen)

Mellow the moonlight to shine is beginning
Close by the window young Eileen is spinning
Bent o'er the fire, her blind grandmother, sitting
Is crooning, and moaning, and drowsily knitting

   Merrily, cheerily, noiselessly whirring
Swings the wheel, spins the wheel, while the foot's stirring
Sprightly and lightly and airily ringing
Trills the sweet voice of the young maiden singing

"Eileen, achara, I hear someone tapping."
"Tis the ivy, dear mother, against the glass flapping."
"Eily, I surely hear somebody sighing,"
"Tis the sound, mother dear, of the autumn winds dying."

   Merrily, cheerily, noiselessly whirring
Swings the wheel, spins the wheel, while the foot's stirring
Sprightly and lightly and airily ringing
Trills the sweet voice of the young maiden singing

There's a form at the casement - the form of her true love
And he whispers, with face bent, "I'm waiting for you, love
Get up on the stool, through the lattice step lightly
And we'll rove in the grove while the moon's shining brightly"

   Merrily, cheerily, noiselessly whirring
Swings the wheel, spins the wheel, while the foot's stirring
Sprightly, and lightly, and airily ringing
Trills the sweet voice of the young maiden singing

Slower... and slower... and slower the wheel swings
Lower... and lower... and lower the reel rings
Ere the reel and the wheel stop their ringing and moving
Through the grove the young lovers by moonlight are roving
Through the grove the young lovers by moonlight are roving

I just noticed that those lyrics have something in common with this song:)

Great song !!!!

Love that playing !!! ..... I don't know about the 600, but the tuner in my mbr is the (second) best I've got. For me it's more than good enough (and I'm the one who started that can you get a guitar in tune thread)
