Michael Kelly Guitars

I have a chance to check out a Michael Kelly Hourglass guitar. Does anybody know anything about this brand? Or maybe own one? I have a chance to trade for some junk I don't need.

I have a Michael Kelly Club Custom 5 String Fretless bass.

I like it.  It's the nicest instrument I own.  I did have to take it to a luthier to sand down some tiny ripples on the fingerboard--but that's a fretless thing you wouldn't have to deal with.

From what I read about ALL versions of the hourglass, I would say it seems pretty badass. Biggest gripe seemed to be that it has a thin neck, so if you have big hands that "might' be a problem I guess.

I would do it, especially if it's for just "junk".

I don't know which one it is - Probably would have been a good question to ask, just didn't think to. If it's not beat up I think I'm going to get it, though!!

It does have that maple top, Ron - he's coming by the house on monday. I've since heard good things about the guitar, but know nothing of the pickups. I'm a novice when it comes to pickups and I'm going to plug that guitar in before I trade, that's for sure. The guy also has a Tradition that looks like a PRS for trade as well. I have a Tradition bass and love it - It has a super low action neck that plays very well.
