I currently have a BR-900CD that I've been using for a few years. I have an opportunity to buy a '1200 for 20% off, or about $720US. I'm sure I can sell my '900 ( with some extra 1GB cards) for $300-400. Is it worth the upgrade???

There are only three kinds of drummers. Those who can count, and those who can't.

FRK - Well obviously only you can answer that. Having heard what you've produced on your previous BR models, I would expect that if you do upgrade, then the introduction of a full orchestra is obvioulsy on the cards! ;D
A couple of points for you to ponder: If you can, wait and see what Roland unveil (If anything) on Sept 1st. Also, is it possible for you to hold onto your 900, as well as purchasing the 1200? It would give you a complete other-arsenal of possibilities. The drum machine on the 1200 is subtlely, but noticably different, from the 900 - and don't let others' tell you otherwise - for instance.
Having said that, the 1200 is another world altogether; even more so now that it's shipping with an 80gb hard-drive. Good luck with your decision.
