Well I surprised myself a bit with this... I suppose, although I'm a pop and bloozer now, I did start out as a metal-boy in '79 or so

I did this in one take this morning after playing along with the track for a few hours. I decided I was gonna do one take, and one take only... otherwise, you know me, there would have been overdubs, harmonies and goodness knows what...

There are issues, like the Eb bar caught me unawares (even though I kept telling myself it was coming ) because I was so impressed with my vibrato at that moment , and there's fluffed notes right near the begining, and, like everyone else, I was running out of steam in the last verse... but overall I quite liked the feel and I know multiple takes will not improve on that today...

But then while I was getting ready to mix and master, I found and listened to Dmann's version (it's stunning Dmann) - I nearly bottled out... I considered binning this, or possibly practising the ideas I came up with for another few weeks!

But what the hell... here it is...

I am certainly glad you didn't trash this one.  Your take was excellent. Great job. Gotta figure out how you did that one lick. I liked that!!

Wow ... kinda like that raw unpolished Andy too !!!! This was great. You sure brought out that metalboy inside you (I've seen him lurking there from time to time ....).

I really need to practice this sort of stuff if I wanna be any good at it... I'm an improvisional, "feel" player, and although I can get the aggression/raw thing into it, I kinda think my playing's not accurate enough at the moment to do it justice...

Still, not too bad for an old bloozer with 11s and a high action, though

Yep, it's Bare Knuckles "Riff Raffs" in a Gibson SG faded. I think this one is all bridge pickup.
