old song revisited but you can add to it your bit on if you want, what does that mean, well let me explain.

what follows is a song i wrote when i was 23 , guitarron your good at maths work out how long ago that was,

it is/was a break up song. but a song i keep coming back too , i think i recorded the original version on a vitaphone that thomas edison loaned me,

then i got a twin cassette ghettoblaster did a version on that, then i got a portastudio did a version on that then i got a pc dum de dum de dum ..........
so here we are at the microbr version.

so what i have done is a drumtrack stereo, two rythm guitars playing same thing but with different effects, a bass line but on the guitar and a vox,

wots different is, ive recently been singing songs in my scottish accent, now all previous versions of this song are done in yer common or garden midatlantic drawl, so i thought id give this a go wi a scottish accent, (please note yes i have bin drinking) and sudenly its from here to epithany,

i think im going to stick to my scottish voice as i for one i can relate to it but 2 i think it shows more emotion........................

right just realised i must be boring the arse of the lot of ye..............

anyway this is a basic take but i am looking for all yooze kool katz out there to add a wee bit onto the song , be it keys , guitar , bass or some swordfishtrombone it is yours to tamper with henceforth.
oh by the way, the song is called "spread my wings"

I like it!  Something about it reminds me of a Brian Wilson kinda sound..... I'll see if I can add a bit.  :)

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

I for one like the Scottish voice. And it's much more smooth and understandable than the Proclaimers.  :)

that would make a good smooth jazz instrumental(no offense)
it sounds like the local smooth jazz station fare

guitar was tuned really weird for this one, its a tuning i used to use when i first got the guitar, dont know if its a known one just one i made up,  and as i cant play very well i bar chorded for the chord progression and used top three notes for the bass, following exact same chord progression, but tuning does have a jazzy feel to it.

Yep... a lot of Major 7ths, which in addition to the Brian Wilson thing is also reminiscent of Todd Rundgren. That's what I'm hearing.... gonna try and stack up some vocal harmonies.   ;)

Yeah... been listening to him since Nazz.  Remember the vinyl LP 'Nazz, Nazz'?  It was RED(vinyl).  Probably very $$ collectible now!

The music was good too....
