Les-you were truly a pioneer-what single person has had such an impact? Robert Moog maybe

Les Paul invented multi-track recording-were all indebted to him

as far as cheap Lp's go-It's like i always say-i never met a "paul" i didn't like

the epiphone gear is tight-their build is excellent-pick-ups? -some are ok

could still kick myself for getting rid of my 1st one( a sixty something goldtop) beater-traded it for a non reverse firebird also a 60's model

Yes its a triumph.  Got wear marks on the fretboard etc.  I use my guitars. LOL  They don't collect to much dust.  Got a friend who has a gold plated Strat (maybe its a tele) and had it a year and maybe played it 5 times.  What is a guitar for but to play??

Thanks for the link Osky  I have looked a few times but couldnt' find anything definite.  Original case?  I should show a picture of that all duct tape  now.  I have only seen 2 others. One was white the other looked just like mine. And it had duct tape on the case also.  Was at a big jam in Mi.  Hubby said who's playing your guitar.  turns out it was identical to mine.  duct tape and all. LOL

Wiley thats some looker, Ive never seen that bass before.  Like the website says its fly.
Heres my humble Dillion-Ive never been able to afford a real Gibson, but this one at least has Gibson pups/wiring.  Its currently visiting my buddy up in San Jose.

Heres a link to a great Les Paul documentary.  I love those tones.

Les Paul - it's a name that's immortal now... his guitars and incredible contribution to music will live forever. Very sad news, but he lived a hell of a long and successful life. If only we could all be so lucky  :)

And the multi-track thing is pretty major too. We're all here because of the legacy of that pioneering spirit.

And I can't ever see a time when I wouldn't want a Les Paul guitar in my collection. Nothing does classic creamy rock like a Les Paul. I'm stuck at Epiphone level for now, but I really like the P90's on this one:

Bro

Mine does not count as a Les Paul.

But it's kind of a tribute to him i think of it as.
If you loose track over a chord progression, play as fast as you possibly can. Nobody will know. Thats how they invented bebop.

Geir

A part of life, but still sad. He will be remembered. He should be an honorary member of this society!!!

I've always wanted a Les Paul special. This one's my dream :
