Well done that man!!!!! Only thing that came to mind when I listened to this backer was the urge to run....

Great job!!!

Geir My hat is off Well Done!
I tried this backer and ran screaming from the guitar!

I love the playing, Geir!! So abstract and surprising. I'm a fan of your shredwork, just to let you know!!

Very impressive work. But more importantly this fit so
perfectly into the backer that it seemed like it should
have been there all along!
Beautiful!

Damn, that was GOOD!!!!
How come you're not making sh*t loads of cash playing that thing?????

Mr. Vai.....I mean Geir - AWESOME guitar work here!!!

What a versatile guitarist that is always ready for a flippin challenge - the backer timing sounds very tricky, but you handled it super well!!

Thank you all for freaking kind comments. You all made my day.

What a great place to be, eh ?

Quote from: Saijinn Maas on August 12, 2009, 06:08:06 PMUm...  That was totally badass! You've actually inspired me to tackle this. Kinda like a "If Geir can do it, so can I!!!" Without the negative connotation of course ;)
I hope I did, and of course you should ....  and will !!! I hope!! Go for it

pure class guitar...an instrumental about a "6 string guitar"
Played on a 7 string guitar ;D .... Thanx TJ 8)

Quote from: Ferryman on August 13, 2009, 04:05:34 AMYup, totally awesome. Really fits well, how many takes was this? The only way I could approach something like this would be to do it in bite sized chunks, I get the impression you just let rip all the way through. It's really excellent guitar playing. Not total shredding, but the sound, style and phrasing are razor sharp and it works. You are a man of many talents!

Cheers,

Nigel
Cheers Nigel, thank you so much!!  Yes it was one take, but not the first one!! I listened to it for 5-6 times before even touching the guitar, thinking it was way to much job getting even close to something listenable on this one. But when I finally gave it a go I really gave up, cause I couldn't find the chords!! Then I just thought "f"#k it" ... and played. Had to have at least 10 goes before coming through in one take tho' ;)

Quote from: Bluesberry on August 13, 2009, 04:37:17 AMThis is godly playing for sure, those sirens and Huldras seem to have given you supernatural guitar powers in exchange for your soul Geir. :D  ;)
Mwahahahahahaha  ........ no.     .... well the Siren may have oiled my fingers  ::)
