hello

can someone tell me how to record/jam over or a mp3 file that i have downloaded?

what i want to do is play along with the downloaded mp3 and record a file so i can hear how i sound and track my progress/improvements.

can anyone help

cheers

btw; if you respond, please simple words as i don't understand much about this machine, i'm 50years old and i think this little box is way over my head, i've had it 2 months and really can't understand the manual, there are words in that book that i have not idea what they mean or words that i know that are used in a new way,
so this is my last try, if i can't get this to do this little task i will be selling it :'(

Sprocket

Exit out of MP3 mode(by pressing the MP3 button), using the utility button select new song, then hitting utility again select "track" and then select your MP3, and make sure you import it to 2 stereo tracks...then hit record and then click on track 3 and then hit play to start recording.

thanks for your reply, however i think your making the assumption that i know how this machine works, with regards to your post i followed you up to the point where you said select my MP3, if you can re-detail instructions that would be great,

if not thanks for your attempt

Copy the file to the MP3 folder on your memory card, either via USB or a memoory card slot. Create a new song. Perss Utility, Track, > (to change screen) IMP. +/- to find the file, then NEXT. Change the track to TR12V1 by pressing the + key. Press TIM (Or MEA for that matter, makes no difference for this) then NEXT.

Wait......

Exit till back at main screen, Perss TR1, then<> to get to the PAN screen. Press TR1 and TR2 at the same time to link the tracks, then pan them out max left and right.

Exit, press record and select TR3 or 4. Press play and record your take.

If none of this makes sense refer to the tutorials in this section....

If none of this makes sense refer to the tutorials in this section....

i've been looking for tutorials on my specific questions, however they all seem to be tailored to making your own song from scratch, and not using a mp3 backing track

so if there is one that answers my queries i'd love to have the link

cheers

Not here, but all the info to follow my instructions are there. Or just follow it step by step, not so hard.....

You see any mistakes in there?

Great tutorial!

I do see one small error - in step 8 you import the mp3 to tracks 1 & 2, and then in step 18 you record on track 2 or 3, should be 3 or 4?
