This is very different, but in a good way. Really like the effects that you have put throughout the song, The vocal might not be everybodys taste, but I really do think it makes this track stand out. Another one to add to Bolder Park's impressive catalouge of songs.

To be honest i really didn't feel the charisma of the song in the intro.

But as i listened i really started feeling it!

I really like it now, and i think it's a great tensionfilled song.

And the feedback really adds something!
If you loose track over a chord progression, play as fast as you possibly can. Nobody will know. Thats how they invented bebop.

Not my thing either, but incredibly well done!!!! Way better than a lot of the stuff I hear on the radio.

Thanks guy's, your words, opinions and criticisms are helpful. I'll be honest I haven't been writing much music lately, this was recorded months ago, but Gabe just got around to adding the vox. I think it needs some cleaning up. I like some parts and others I'd change. Oh well, it's a work in progress.

I've just been so busy with my artwork that I haven't had time to write music. I certainly miss it. I'm gonna try and finish a sleepy little song I started a while ago.

Thanks again,

erik

What up, Erik! :)

First, you already know I loved this song before the vox were even added.  I love the main riffs, which are melodic as hell, and the various sound effects in the way of delay and feedback are awesome and do not in any way detract from the melody, IMO.  I am still deciding on how I feel about the programmed drums.  They are well programmed (as are all of your songs), but I think they might be a bit weak for this particular song.  With live acoustic drums, it could be really powerful.  Then again, the subdued nature almost makes for a nice hypnotic and low-key experience, a la Yo La Tengo.  So maybe they work just fine.  I love this song ... without vox.

Do you see how many people who have responded have said something to the effect of "not my cup of tea?"  I think there is only one thing keeping it from being anyone's cup of tea: The vox.  This song with melodic vox would be incredible, and I am willing to bet that if it had such vox, NO ONE would be saying it's not their "thing."  I know how big of an influence Yo La Tengo is, and this song could really be along those lines if there were melodic and appealing-to-the-ear vox.  The vox as they are now almost cheapen the song and detract from how amazing it could be.  They make it sound a little on the unprofessional side.  I hope my words are not too blunt, but this is nothing I haven't told you before.  I keep giving Gabriel's vox a shot, but I just can't hang with them.  To me, they are holding back your sound and ability to be a VERY AWESOME band.

All of that said, I have said this before as well, and will say it again: My opinion is just that ... my opinion.  There are thousands -- nay, MILLIONS -- of people who would probably think the vox are amazing, groundbreaking, and extremely unique.

Again, I hope my bluntness is not crude, and I hope you understand that I care about your music A LOT, and want to see it reach its full potential, and that's the only reason I am 100% honest.  If I didn't care, I would just say it kicked ass, and leave it at that. :)
