Heavy Challenge - A Different Perspective.....

One of the things I'm enjoying most with the Micro BR is running through the different patches over the same backing track.  I get to explore different tones and get ideas that would not come any other way.

When I first loaded the backing track Heavy D for the challenge, the BR was set on Twangster.  Then I got the thought " What would is sound like if say Roy Buchanan sat in with the likes of Judas Priest?

Not quite the tone I had in mind, but close enough....

Had fun on this one 48 - Thanks!

SteveG

Interesting idea, I do much the same myself. Not sure the tone really worked for the track but that's not what you were going for.

this is a scarry monster of a backing track thats just got tamed.
nice one Justin and a sense of humour too.

Thanks Roger!

I had a good time with this take.  I'm going to do a " proper " version during the week, way too good of a backing track 48 gave us not to justice by.

I'm with SteveG I'm afraid, doesn't really work for me but certainly out of the box and off the wall thinking. The double stops work quite nicely though. It's always good to try different things! look forward to hearing the other version.

Definitely out of the box thinking here. Kind of like surfing on a sea of hot coals or something :D I'm into alternate sounds and this fit the bill quite nicely.

Nice work - I'm looking forward to the other version as well.

Thanks 48 - I'm planing on getting it down tonight - but who's Joe ?   ???   ;D

Out-of-the-box alright. You have the skills for sure, but I too think a nastier patch would do the backer more justice. But nice experiment.

This do remind me of a live gig I did with my old heavyband, we were to play some thin lizzy song, and for some reason (probably old valves) the gain on my Marshall JCM 800 dropped and thus also the distortion/sustain ........ I was sweating as a fat sprinter in a sauna when I tried to pull off that solo .....

That said, you pulled this off far better than I did!!

It gives this backer a very different sound.  But great playing!! Will be fun to see what else you come up with.
