Deleting old material

Short of looking thru the manual I have about a dozen pieces to remove from my micro br can i take out the sim card  and clear the lot through my computer

Yes you can, but the card initialize feature will do the same thing. If you erase everything with a computer, you will have to initialize anyway.

If you want to delete all of the songs from the card, then the easiest and best way is to Initialize the card (see page 115 of the Micro BR manual). But, if you only want to erase some of the songs, then use the BR's Song Erase function (page 58). Alternatively, you could erase the appropriate SONGxxxx.BR0 folders from the memory card using your computer. However, this is risky since the folder names don't always match the song names and you could easily delete the wrong one. So it's better to use Song Erase on the BR.
