Copying within same track

Recently, I tried to copy a section of the rhythm guitar, from one part of a track to another part and I got wierd results. First, if I repeated the copy, say 4 times, by the third copy it got out of sync with the drums. So I had to go and only repeat the copy, say twice, and then do it again in order to get the same section copied 4 times and still in sync with the drums.

Secondly, there would be "dead" spaces at the end of a copied section, so that there was a bad-sounding spot where the sound just stopped.

Anybody experienced similar problems?

Hi, I have not tried this yet, but did read about it in the manual.

By any chance are you doing it by time? I think it would be more accurate if you did it by meassures. This way it should line up exactly.

I tried to do it by measure. For instance, I copy Measure 1, Beat 1 through Measure 4 Beat 4 to Measure 5 Beat 1, repeat x3 times. That should give me 3 more repetitions of this 4-measure sequence. But by the third repetition, starting at measure 13, it gets out-of-sync or else there is "dead" space at measure 12 beat 4.

A common mistake. To copy the first 4 measures, the source should be specified as Measure 1, Beat 1 to Measure 5, Beat 1. The last measure is not actually included in the copy. In other words, you're telling it to copy everything up to the start of beat 1 in measure 5. This may seem odd but, if you think about it, it sort of makes sense since you're telling it to copy from the start of Measure 1, Beat 1.

By specifying a range of M1B1 to M4B4, you're excluding the 4th beat of the last measure, which will definitely cause things to get out of sync.

Thank you! That explains it. Maybe I should have consulted the manual...
