He's back and he's making me listen to jazz! Welcome back Mr2Cool, glad to see that the quartet is still going strong. Can't really comment too much on this as I am not a jazzer but I enjoyed the very laid back feel and as it's a lovely sunny morning here, it went very well with the start of my day. Certainly some mellow guitar tones on there.

Cheers,

Nigel

All i can say is that i wish i could play smooth jazz like that!
If you loose track over a chord progression, play as fast as you possibly can. Nobody will know. Thats how they invented bebop.

So, I take it that this was a live performance?  The micing of the drums especially sounds soooo fine.  Love the way those real cymbals are sizzeling... the fake electronic ones just don't do that.  Great guitar tone.
Fine performance and recording!

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

2cool, great to hear from you!!!! This is great, so restrained, it just floats along on a summer breeze.  The melody is hardly there, just snatches as if I was hearing it out in my backyard, not totally sure where the sound was coming from, picking it up on the breeze.  I have missed your cool funky posts.  How are the other guys doing, the  other 3 members of the quartet?  I really am digging this sound here.

thanks all, for the positive feedback.

just got a new Ibanez AK100NT hollow body arch top with a floating ebony bridge. a true Jazz box with a one-word description;

"SWEEEEEEET"

hooper –
thanks for the compliment about sounding live as it is the intent of this virtual quartet. i introduced this concept some time ago, before i went on hiatus and it has always been my intention to have a Jazz quartet doing songs that sound as if four musicians are performing the music live. the song was all done on the Micro and i play all the instruments except the drums in one take (no editing out mistakes). for the drums i'm using the software program called DrumSite.

(http://www.guitar.sk/drums/drums_main.htm).

the drums in my early songs for the quartet were individual drum hit wav files that i laboriously threaded together in Audacity. talk about a pain and the results were not very good. i still craft the drums, hit by hit with DrumSite, but with much more control and far better results.

thanks again and be "Cool"
