A ship hit ground under a storm last friday at 1am. I saw the ship minutes before that as I was up watching my boat in the storm and helping others saving their boats. We didn't get the news until the morning and when the wind turned we also got the oil .....

Luckily not too bad but bad enough to inspire this song.

I will elaborate more later and add som pics I've taken.

If you google "Langesund Oil Leak" you'll get more info.

Great original Geir - put together quite nicely!!  Good strummin and singing that gave me a picture of what this spill might be like!  Oil, we all need it, but it sure can make a big mess....

Incredible song Geir.  You should see if your local radio station will play this.  It reminds us that the modern world is wonderful and terrible at the same time.

I have never heard a song about this subject before.

Your very personal dealings with this subject has created something with an important and thought provoking message. Stunningly put to music and song.

I hope this is resolved soon for you guys.....

Peace friend

Great song, as always, Geir. It's always sad for everyone when this sort of thing happens. I feel for the crews too, I used to be in the Merchant Navy.

Here you go T, not quite the same, but similar subject. Always been one of my big favs

Are you sure you don't listen to Frank Black? This similar to something he might do - It's really good.

I agree you should try to get this played on a local station - It's personal info that everyone in the area can relate to.

A bleak picture was painted - Hope everything turns out ok in the end.

A good song can always ease the pain a little...

Great post!!

Great song, Geir! And an excellent production. Loved the sound effects. Did you record any of them on the Micro BR or did you find them on the web? Also loved the drums. Were they done on the Micro BR? The fills work really well.

I hope you don't mind that I added a picture and link to your post. It seemed more appropriate up there than down here.
