Hmmm... No kids, no Missus. To hell with kicking the habit, I'm there anyway!!!!

haha...good post 64...looks like a neat place for a get away. I like your BR idea too! However, the REAL test of course is when he gets back home and his mates invite him out for a pint...and everybody is smoking. No access makes it easy...although he will be able to kick the PHYSICAL side of the addiction in a month. The mental addiction is big as well though. My brother is a life long smoker and alcoholic... heart of gold guy...and he once told me that he could give up drinking easily compared to smoking. Hands down in a pinch, he'd take a smoke. I smoked for 25 years...then on/off for another 8. Coming up on 12 years without now. Cigs were 30 cents a pack..in the machine ..when i was 16. Now i see they are almost $8 a pack for some. I think i quit at a good time! Smoking is one tuff addiction to kick. May The Force be with ya Steve!

I could give it up, but she wont!! We agreed to quit, she lasted 3 days. I lasted 3 months, lozenges, doing fine. Trouble was we agreed if she was going to smoke she did not do it in front of me, that did not last long!!!

Ended up with her forcing a smoke on me so she did not have to go to the kitchen, actually helped as I was having a couple a day. Then she started winging about her buying my smokes  ???

Ended up starting back for the sake of some peace and quiet, very hard when your other half is violently opposed to you packing it in.

Thing is, I am 49 now......my youngest is 5. Makes you think......plus there is the financial side. I roll my own, spend about £50 a month. She does more like £150. That is £200  .... every month!!!!!!!!

Im depressed now, so will stop hijacking the thread.

Great blues here Pinedog, and superbly played and recorded. You've got a great sound from that acoustic on this one. The reso lead sounds very sweet indeed. It's simple but very, very effective. Great vox as well.

Cheers,

Nigel

PDG - Well, you've done it AGAIN! and I've all about run out of superlatives to cachet your output. I'm sure if someone gave you anything from a pair of matchstalks to a top-of-the-range violin you could make remarkable music!! Did I hear gambling in your list of prospective life-downfalls? I was up on the floor foot-tapping away so can't be sure. Thankfully, gambling never played a part in my life, I've never done drugs, but sh*t, I had a 30-year battle with the smokes, and a 25-year battle with the bottle. Think I'll stick with music from now on.
Excellent song BTW, PDG, a definite download on my return to SB-Gaff.

Thanks Steve...really appreciate all the kind words...more than i deserve i think. Amazing how much material you have to write about when you get to be an old fudd.
You didn't hear anything about gambling. I probably could have except that i never had any money to gamble with  :D Somebody up there is maybe looking out for me because i have never won anything of consequence in my life! Music is one addiction that won't kill ya.

Hi 48...hey no apologies needed my friend...just posted it yesterday. I won't be posting anymore blues though for who knows how long. This is it...cupboard is bare. I recorded all these songs over the winter and haven't recorded anything since April! I just got my finished Cd's back and they look good...may put them up at CDBABY if they ever get their shit together...what a mess since Derek sold out. I don't like Tunecore with that yearly charge goin' on. CDBABY is a one time shot.
Thanks again for taking the time to listen to my long list of vices  ;)

I like this one a lot!

You're one solid as oak guitar player man.

This is a really strong song, well played, sung, and recorded.  I'll have to come 'visitin' from 600 land again soon. ;D
