God I love bumped music. This is fantastic Diego. I've toyed a bit with a 12 string, but not until now can I understand a love affair with one. Its simply beautiful.

Thanks Tony!  It is quite addictive, especialy with alternate tunnings...  I pulled my clasical out and have been banging on it too - at least the necks are similar -ha!  take care!

Speaking of, hey Diego (or anyone), what type of guitar would you recommend for someone just starting out on a 12-string?  And is tuning it a complete BEEYATCH, or what?  That is my main fear ...

Bumptastic.  I especially like the second one.

I'm guessing the first one has a vocal part.  Am I right?

When I have been going looking for a 12 string It takes me a while to decide - I'll play it for quite a while - find one that you like and play it for a while - check out how the neck feels.  The neck is quite massive so need to make sure your chord hand will adjust to it.  I have small fingers (for a guitar player), but totaly love the 12 - my first instrument was a laud (lute), which had 12 strings, but it had a massive neck and I played it as a guitar!?  So, as far as what to get, well I go more on how it fits my hand, and then I worry about the sound.  I think you can get an Alvarez or Takamine for good prize.  My Alvarez I bought used a few years ago, and it has been the best 12 I have played => busted the neck twice, but second time I had to put two big "C" clamps hold the neck as I am affraid to tune it to 440 w/out the clamps.  I bought a Takamine last year which I spent 2 months playing it @ the store before I bought it, and they droped the prize, which helped a lot - you can find some good prizes on 12 string.  Abrazos Hermano!!!

I wish I could do lyrics - have tried it a few times, but.....  I am pushing myself to write my thoughts down and then start formulating them into lyrics - I keep now a small pocket book to write little phrases that pop up in my head - hard part is that all my compositions are quitar 1st - Reading verses from songs and listening to songs in this forum is getting me a better idea of how to start putting things together.  There are so many things I want to do musicaly...
