Wow, I've been away for a while (weird how one day seems like an eternity here in the Forum ;D) ... I have quite a bit of thanking to do here for all of the wonderful compliments!  Here goes:

THANKS, T! ;D  Any praise from you makes my day every time! :D :D :D

Thank you, Mark! ;D  I always appreciate how you and Bluesberry in particular seem to find my work so quickly and comment right away!  Makes me not feel so much of that dreaded Micro BR-envy!  I appreciate the explanation of how the counter works, but I was just getting the sense that many people were opening the tune and decided not to comment.  Which, to my sometimes fragile ego, means that the tune sucked.  But enough about that.  Wow, I get a signature "Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet!" for this?  I am proud and humbled all at once! ;D  Love the Single Malt Scotch reference. :)  Thanks again for all the kind words!

Wow, THANK YOU, Greeny!  It always amazes me that one of my favorite artists in the world -- you -- has some respect for my humble contributions! ;D  I will have to hunt down Greeny's Emporium song now!  I'm glad you appreciated the chord changes in this one.  I really took my time to make the transitions between the 3 parts smooth.  I made a point to keep some of the chords the same but introduce at least one "new" one from part to part.  I also wanted this to be a bass-driven tune, so I worked hard on making the bass-line prominent, especially in the first part (a.k.a. Part III).  Thanks again for all of the very kind praise! ;D

Thanks, Jim!  Wow -- both fmgwabp AND braw!  I feel the love! :) :D

Thanks a lot, Blooby! ;D  I did want to make sure that in this song, perhaps more than any of my others, the drums and bass were 100% tight with each other, not to mention driving the song.  Thanks for noticing!  I'm not sure what the "chorus" or "bridge" are in this song, so I don't know exactly which parts you are referring to.  For vox, I actually usually do NOT use any reverb.  I know that sounds crazy, but I don't.  I sometimes truly double-track (sing everything twice), but on this one and many others, I sang it once but recorded to two tracks so that I could put stereo effects on the vox.  I basically just modify one of the preset vocal effect patches; it's mostly chorus (slow and in moderation) and delay (not necessarily a slapback, but pretty fast).  I also have a subtle harmony throughout the entire second part.  Thanks again! ;D

Thanks, StevieM!  All 3 parts are included in this song, so you didn't miss anything.  The "Void" comment I made was that I posted a song from my side-project, The Void, that didn't seem to go over quite as well as my other stuff has.  The song is called, "Patience" and it can be found in this BR-1600 board.  Thanks again for the kind words! :)

Mark got to this one way before I did for sure, I am slow on the draw, I was busy working on my latest microBR post so I haven't been as diligent at listening and commenting over the past few days.  And now that brings me up to where I am right now, listening to your masterful fade out to this song, feeling about this fadeout the same way I feel about the fade-out in Layla, I am sitting here with tears in my eyes from the beauty.  No kidding, this is one beautiful song, it wraps you up in a blanket of perfection and peace and doesn't let go until the last note of that majestic fade out.  I am still felling warm and weak as I type this.  Bloody hell man this is what great songwriting is all about.  I have no constructive comments, I am impressed, I am blown away, I am in awe, thats all I can say here.  You are the man, I love your crazy beautiful music.

Your rhythm section is out-of-this-world.  I love your bass playing/recording more than anything, you are very wise, it totally makes the song, just like you intended.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

Well Bosko...imho...night and day from The Void. I loved alot of things about this song...first and foremost the creative musical arrangement. Lots of dynamics pulled off very well. The bass guitar to my ears was mixed on top of all else...and i assume you wanted it that way. I was ok with it being there, where i always feel the vocals should be because the playing and the lines were very good..and they contributed to the quality of the song. The mix and production were ace...all except for...once again, i could not understand one word of lyric. Your vox had a really cool "Beatlesque" sound to them..but i challenge anybody here (except of course you, Bosko) to write out the lyrics. If anybody can do that, i promise i will never whine about vox not being on top again! Ever!  Fine song Bosko...

Thanks, Pinedog, and I agree, The Void is night/day vs. The Stan Laurels.  You will hear more Void later, which will probably justify that statement even more.  Sorry about the lyrics; not sure if that's the fact that they were too low in the mix in your opinion, or just the effects I used.

Before I post the lyrics, I'll let people try and figure them out, as per your challenge.

This should be entertaining ... ;D

May I add a little late praise to the well-deserved praise already here?

You have style, Bosko.

This sounds full, accomplished, and gives a nice emotional tug.

It's difficult to find unique compliments keep up with your recordings!

Thanks, cuthbert!  You have excellent taste in music, so any compliment from you is highly regarded! ;D

Thanks, T, but I may dare to actually disagree slightly with you for the first time ever.  Normally, I would agree about the lyrics, but in this case, they are pretty important to the context of the concept album.  Pinedog just made me realize that I absolutely must print the lyrics for the CD since they are actually fairly important! ;D

Thanks, Trotters!  Don't believe I've seen you around these parts before, but thanks so much for the kind words! :D

So I guess no one is up for the lyrical challenge?  Maybe Pinedog was right ... :-\

I Tried to J.......

The begining and end of a line would be fine but I would loose it in the Middle....

But then again there would always be a word out of range for me, as I'm part deaf in my right ear.......

It might not be the track.....

I resigned my self to the fact it is just because of my hearing....

No, it's not your hearing, it's the effects and the fact that there is so much other shit going on that I didn't put the vox "up front" like P-Dog likes 'em.  Maybe I'll do my vox differently on my next album ...
