Hi all, been away practicing to play my new telecaster and put together a blues backing track.  Here's the result with a one-take lead (I know, it amazed me too!)  ::)

If anyone wants the backer, let me know and I'll post it over in the the collab dept.

I didn't document the effects but it's all on the MBR using a cheap bass and my tele.

Oh, yeah - I got lost in that. It's awesome how you made your own backing track from scratch and then played over it.

Lots of soul and feeling to it - Well done!!

Yes please post it in colabs, I would love to have a go.  This is a real nice backer, you made it?  That Tele sounds real good, lets have details please, any pictures of this new guitar, is it a Fender Tele or copy?.  I am getting a real strong hankering for a Tele lately, details please.  Was this bridge PU, what micro settings, what colour is it, what do you like/dislike about it.  Damn man your playing has gone up 3 notches because of this new guitar.  I got the GAS, I got the GAS, I got the GAS.  Just what is so great about a Tele anyway, I need to know.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

Thanks so much everyone!  Yes the backing track I put together with the MBR.  I've posted it here:

https://songcrafters.org/community/post-your-mp3-collaborations-only/mbr-made-am-slow-blues-backer/0/

It's got a few boogers in it I hear now w/o the lead..... oh-well, gets the job done.  Actually, all the stock backers were getting too sterile for me so some dirt maybe helps?

As to my telecaster, yes it's a "real" if you call a Fender thinline '69 RI (reissue) real.  It's from the mid 90s, bought on e-bay used for about $500 used.  This one is made in Japan but they now make them in Mexico for about $900 new.

I couldn't stand the single PU hum so installed no-noise pups and shielded it fully.  Nice and quiet now.  ;D

This pic isn't mine, just the same model.  Mine also as an updated bridge but otherwise the same:

Teles get some neat tones but you have to learn to play all over.  Maybe it's the .09s on it but you have to not only be aware of the tuning your playing but the tone as well.  Great dynamics possibilities for sure.   ;D

FOR BLUESBERRY - the setting I used were I think patch 26 or combo lead?  Anyway, I usually run both PUs setting with full volume and about 1/2 tone so it doesn't get too shrill.  BTW, the thinline is semi hollow body so weighs less than a solid (I burned out on the weight of my LP clone - dang it's heavy...)  You can pick up a new Squier thinline for about $350.  There are also cheap imports that don't do too bad.  Search the tele board for some reviews on knock-offs such as SX, Xaviere, and Agile:

What is GAS again?  I used to know.  Here's the thing with teles, the way the bridge pup is set in the metal bridge, the distance between pups and the types of pups as well as the longer scale length I think all add to the twangy tone they have.  I'm not into country but fell in love with the tone hearing it playing the blues on youtube:
