Well, I was torn between going out and mowing the lawn or listening to a few more tunes - glad I chose the latter (But I'll feel guilty later!).

At first when I saw the description, I immediately thought about that cheesy beach party movie that had Don Rickles and Dick Dale in it(I'll admit to liking the movie), but this one is a gain driven howler!!

I had just played The B52's "52 Girls", and this just kept the mood going.

Thanks guys...no such thing as too much fun. Instrumentals are sorta liberating..

I think it's time for a new beach movie eh?  ???

"Cheese in the Sand".....starring George Bush and Brittany Spears...i mean, can't ya see George strummin' a six string while the girls look at their guys with dreamy eyes?
Surefire summer box office smash!!  :o

PDG - Holy Sh*t, you've done it AGAIN!! Do you have Treble-Clefs for blood?? Within seconds it was Annette Funicello and me twisting away by the Pacific Ocean. Perhaps a bit too raucous for the 60s, but hey, time moves on. As we say here: Piggin Brill. Well done.  :)

Thanks Steve...i always wanted to try a surf song. It was a backer from my Boss DR-3. My set up was the Tele > Ibanez Tube Screamer > Br1200 with the COSM "Tremelo Twin" setting as i recall. I love the sound of the notes as they decay  :-\ ...er...maybe fade away is a better term  :D Thanks for listening and the kind words!

PDG - Just had another listen to get the fluids flowing. Are the drums from the internal 1200? Because it's certainly something to aim for for those of us who own the 1200 if they are.

No...the drums and bass are from my Boss DR-3 stand alone drum machine. They are real samples, recorded in stereo so ya get the cool rolls (like you hear in "Willie's Blues")and i like the sound of them so much it has justified my laziness and procrastination for not learning BR1200 drums. Gotta learn, sooner or later...i'm just so burned out on "learning curves" over the last 5 years....

Hey Charlie - I'm sure the 1200 rhythm section is good, but with your unit I don't see a huge track cost using a drum machine because the 1200 has 8 playbacks, right? The biggest advantage with a BR rhythm section is that there is no track cost (At least with the MBR), but if I had 8 tracks to work with, mixing a drum kit down to stereo or using a drum machine doesn't seem like a big deal - and you get a much better result.

Unfortunately I have one hand tied behind my back in that department with the MBR(Only 4 playbacks), so using the built in drums gives me two more tracks to work with in my mind.

BTW, I've listened to this song several times - What a mean Tele sound. As Facemask93(Rob) would say "This is the dog's rear wheels!!"
