i think i'm turning into boscko schwartz my ears are frazzled have mixed and remixed this i don't know now whether i'm killing it or wot. i do know this probably wont be the last mix as mike is unhappy with his bass (i luv it) he sez he cant play when pissed lmao.
anyway here are the complete lyrics this time. everything is as original except i redid the lead vox, but kept original backing vox.

indian summer

an indian summer with a patchy (apache) fog
oh yeah and midges and rain
i burnt my fingers on the bbq
but im still glad i came

you're never happy with the weather
you always think things could be better
you're never happy with the weather
you always think things could be better

ive got my brolly and my suntan cream
i better hedge my bets
the weather forecast is sunny and wet
you can never tell what we're gonna get

you're never happy with the weather
you always think things could be better
you're never happy with the weather
you always think things could be better

your cup is half empty
mine is always 'bout half full
you only see the downside
i only see the good

you're never happy with the weather
you always think things could be better
you're never happy with the weather
you always think things could be better
i dont think i'll ever know whether
just how you're gonna be
it goes just like the weather
we'll have to wait and see

an indian summer with a patchy (apache) fog
oh yeah and midges and rain
i burnt my fingers on the bbq
but im still glad i came

ive got my brolly and my suntan cream
i better hedge my bets
the weather forecast is sunny and wet
you can never tell what we're gonna get

Indian Summer is my favorite time of the year.
This is a very lazy dreamy type of song, it fits so well
with my mental images of a indian summer cookout....
Great song Jim, and awesome guitars Tim.
Mike the bass is great! no need to re-do it!

I think you did a great job on the remix, Jim. Like LG said - no need to redo the bass IMO. It's fantastic.

Sounds like you guys are having loads of fun as well!!

I love what you've done with the vox, especially the panning of the backing vox. Guitars and drums sound great but for me the bass is still a bit too low. Flash is playing quite a melodic line on this and it could take centre stage more, especially during just the rhythm guitar sections. The quiet bits at the end could really do with it taking the melody line over. But that's me - I love my bass right up front in the mix, and I know that's not really the JK sound. Still sounds great overall.

Perhaps playing when under the influence has removed some of Flash's inhibitions? He is usually a very controlled and restrained bass player that always adds a great solid line but doesn't do what his name implies. This time perhaps we have a bit more "Flash"? I really like what I can hear and I'd love to hear a bit more  :)

Cheers,

Nigel

Wow, this is just great.  Already downloaded this to my "Best of BR" folder (tune # 6).  I really enjoy the production on this one.  The bass floats along without bloating the bottom end, and the background vocals are stunning.

I have to listen to it a few more times, but I think (I can't believe I am going to say this...) the guitars may be a tad loud...that is, the rhythm guitars.  Everything is very audible and separated, but they seem omnipresent to me.  That being said, when the background vocals kick in, the mix really sounds fantastic.

Hmm, I'll have to sit on this one for a few more listens.

Great, catchy tune.
