Quote from: hooper on July 22, 2009, 08:05:04 AMBosko- On the strength of your recommendation I just ordered 'The Soft Bulletin' from Amazon (used 3.49 plus 2.98 ship)  If this is part of what has lead to the Stan Laurals sound, then I wanna hear more!  Never heard Flaming Lips before.......

I'll likely do the same.  I've been wanting to investigate The Flaming Lips, but never knew where to start.

The three I mentioned to Hooper are the best, IMHO, although the early stuff is good and raw.  The newer stuff is just majestic and incredible, but with the same weird vibe as the early stuff.

No Ozzy Sabbath but Dio Sabbath???

??? :o ???

Could not pick out one Sabbath album from the Oz era, and the Black Box (Playing constantly in my car) was not allowed....

Anyway, Dio is IMO the finest rock vocalist of all time!

Quote from: Greeny on July 22, 2009, 07:29:00 AMThese things do change with the weather, but there are some clear favourites of mine...

- 'Transformer' - Lou Reed
- 'Dark Side of the Moon' - Pink Floyd
- 'Hounds of Love' - Kate Bush
- 'Revolver' - The Beatles
- 'Harvest' - Neil Young

Holy smokes Greeny - You are scaring me. I always go for "Play Through and not Skip Through albums" to be my favorites. You have two of my favorites listed - I'm freakin' out. Andy's Chest is a song I'd love to play (Saijiin could actually cover it with his voice) Well, here's mine(Not in any particular order):

Come in and Burn - Rollins Band
Transformer - Lou Reed
Houses of the Holy - Led Zeppelin
Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd (My first compact disc)
Black Sabbath - Paranoid (My first hand me down LP)

I agree that musical preference changes with the weather, but I can always pop these in and love them to death. (Because I will crank the Police all day long sometimes)

It's a cool world we live in...
