Here's a change of pace. When I visited Sun Studio a couple weeks ago, I picked up a CD collection of some of the old recordings from Sun in the 50's and 60's. It contained the original recording of this song by Billy "The Kid" Emerson. It was made popular later by the likes of Billy Lee Reilly and Robert Gordon.

I did this version in 2006 for a collection of covers of pre-Beatles rock & roll. The BG vocals are by my wife and three of my internet buddies.

Hey, Frank!  Great take!  Love it!!!  When I was hitting the bars hard playing with Cut-across and Porch Rockers - local bands in Northeast Nebraska - we always did these meddleys on the last set of the night --- since we had two lead players, we always had to switch leads to all the songs => unbelibable how wild the crowds always got with the old rockroll tunes!  I suppose that the "spirits" helped alot!  Thanks for sharing!!!

Thanks for the listen and the comments, guys! As you can imagine, this was a fun tune to put together.

Sweet cover.  I love the short measures in the chorus.  I hope it's easier to do that in with the BR-900 than the MBR!

Thanks for the kind words, Ted and BMB! Fortunately I play drums, so I didn't have to mess with programming that stuff, Ted. LOL!

A real drummer!  Well, well, well...  you may get pinged for some collaboration.

Great drum sound you've got there--micing, mixing, etc.--and solid playing.
