Fantastic, Facemask93! Now I want to try a drop D tuning!  :)

I had never heard of Bert Sommer until running across this post. That is, I didn't think I had, until I researched the gentleman and found out he was also briefly a member of the Left Banke - and then I recognized his voice after seeing the Woodstock clip.

Thanks to everyone who bumped this post up. Great cover!

I don't know why, but your voice always surprises me. It's a really good voice. Your playing fits this song perfectly, and I always say that this is the most difficult sort of song to do, one voice (mostly) and one instrument. You have nowhere to hide and you have no need to either. This is just wonderful.
We are here on Earth to fart around. Don't let anybody tell you any different

Thanks for the links, Rob - I'll be using them.

Oh, and I'm finding standard open chord shapes sound very jazzy in this tuning!  :D

Once again, I find myself Blown the Fuck Away by Facemask. :o :o :o

One take?  ONE TAKE?!?  You are ridiculous, and I mean that in the greatest possible way.  Your voice is so late 60s/early 70s.  Not sure how or why it sounds like that.  Not sure if it's just your voice alone, or the exceptional ways in which you use it.  Perhaps a combination of both.  You are blessed with an incredible voice, but more importantly, you use it better than almost anyone I've ever heard.  The guitar playing and sound of the 12-string is also superb.  The recording might as well have been done in a multi-million dollar studio.  The song is one I'd never heard, but now I'm not even going to listen to the original because it will certainly be no match.

SIMPLY AMAZING. ;D
